There are a lot of weeds. It’s hard to move around, and it hides spiders and snakes. Stress and vigilance take their toll. Are you ready to come back from “I’m burnt out on life”?
What percentage of ‘normal people’ could you walk even half a mile in your shoes?
It is exhausting to have to trudge through the overgrowth every day.
The weeds will be even more invasive if you suffer from depression or anxiety.
It’s hard.
After a well-deserved rest, if you feel burned out by life, you must have the determination to return to it.
Self-talk that is destructive
Burnout is accompanied by a negative self-image. The negative self-talk that comes with it is also a double-whammy.
Imagine our friend saying…
- How could I have been so weak?
- How could I have messed up my own life so badly?
- What am I doing now, all these years later?
- The great comedy: My life is meaningless and worthless.
It is difficult to change a pattern of behavior.
Do you agree with any of these observations?
Take care of yourself
What can you do to prevent burnout?
There are many options. For simplicity’s sake, let’s stick to just one option: be kind to yourself.
