Does it make any sense? It’s like telling someone who is having a panic episode to take Adderall, lock themselves in the closet and then say “Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures.” In desperate times, calmness and reason can do wonders.
Do you believe that we need to have a new mindset and approach when we are faced with desperate situations?
It could be due to our mental and emotional health, family relationships, finances, or frenetic pace…
In desperate times, our lives can become a living hell. When things start to get bad, all thoughts of calmness and reason can be snuffed by full-throttle hysteria.
“Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures?”
If an 18-wheeler comes at us, it’s wise to follow the advice “Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures.” It doesn’t really make sense, however, beyond the fight-or-flight response.
We’re likely to experience great desperation unless we are divinely protected. With them comes the false belief of all hope being lost.
You know what else? You don’t need to react to the calamity like an asteroid is about to strike. This can only be achieved if the situation is managed properly.
10 Reasoned Measures
Let’s team up to take some rational measures in anticipation of the next dance.
- Put aside the hysteria and cognitive distortions to get a true picture of the situation.
- It’s time for a conversation if we have a connection with a spiritual force. Why not experience the strength and confidence that comes with such a connection? If we don’t already have a relationship, it might be time to start one.
- We must confirm and maintain who we are. If there are any doubts, when better to clear the air?
- Let the situation and your response evolve. We don’t have to be in control of every detail when we are working hard towards a resolution.
- Help is available from others. If our list of contacts is empty, now’s the time to fill it up.
- Consider that we are dealing with the best learning and growth opportunities.
- We’re fostering a character that you can be proud of.
- It’s possible that things are not as dire as you think.
- It is a wonderful time to respond to others’ suffering and to try to understand it.
- We must have a deep-seated belief that we will not perish.

Just Like You
Like you, I have experienced desperate times…
There were times when I wondered whether life was even worth living. It took all my strength to get out of bed in the morning and face a new day. My spiritually barren, broken soul would plead with a higher being to intervene and comfort me. There were times when “tomorrow’s” concept was unimaginable.
What am I saying?
Keep the spirit alive
Do you believe that we need to have a new mindset and approach when we are faced with desperate situations?
It’s not easy, I know, but keeping calm and reasoning alive in your mind and soul will help you get off to a good start.
We can continue to grow.
