In the face of an unacceptable reality, we escape to a past when our satisfaction and gratification was never-ending. That can certainly cause anxiety and mood aggravation.
You need to understand that we are talking about emotional regression. You might come across hypnotic or age regression, as well as past-life therapy. This isn’t it.
